Web Designers vs. Web Developers

Following on the tail of yesterday’s post about infographics is today’s hilarious infographic comparing web designers with web developers.

This tonge-in-cheek graphic especially resonates with me since I’ve worked for the last 2 months as a web developer alongside several web designers at Castle Media Group.

Web Designers vs. Web Developers

Web Designers vs. Web Developers

If you’ve ever known a web designer or developer then chances are that you’ve seen them exhibiting quite a few of these tendencies.

If you’re still like, “Whaa??” then send this to them. They’ll know what I’m talking about (plus, they’ll think it’s awesome).

Personally

(I would fall under the 2nd category [the web developer])

  • Stubble-beard? Unknown date of last shower? Check. Check.
  • Functional cargo pants from the last millennium? Check.
  • Bring my own keyboard to work? Check.

Stats

(According to the chart)

  •  There are 6 times more programming jobs (I assume he means web) than web design jobs in the US.
  • The average web developer is paid 2x as much as the average web designer.

Kudos…

…to Shane Snow for being motivated enough to put his ideas to paper.

I am constantly annoying my friends and brother by discussing companies poor font choices.

My trusty Macbook Pro by my side. Check
My face buried in my iPhone 4S. Check

    I just wish I made $47,000 a year. :)

  2. @Tanner, Yeah, I wish I did too (and I even fall under the programmer category). ;)
