The similarity is a bit striking, isn’t it? But I guess that shouldn’t surprise us since both were made by the puppet master Jim Henson.
Kudos…
…to Peter De Seve for his artwork.
I thought Yoda was made by Frank someone… The same guy who was his voice actor.
@Timothy Nope, that was just his voice actor. The Yoda puppet was made by Jim Henson, the creator of Elmo, Big Bird, Oscar, Cookie Monster, Kermit, etc. Crazy, huh?
Yoda was not created by Jim Henson, but by Stuart Freeborn. Nonetheless Jim Henson was asked by George Lucas to help in the creation and articulation of Yoda. But the design itself was done by Freeborn, while Yoda’s face is said to be a combination of Freeborn’s own face and Albert Einstein’s.
Oh, and Frank Oz was not only the voice actor for Yoda but also his puppeteer (Oz was suggested to Lucas by Henson).
