Occasionally I’ll tune in for a sports game, and I’m sure glad that I tuned in for last night’s NBA Finals Game 6. I remember watching in 2003 as the Mavs were beaten by the Spurs in the NBA semi-finals. I was a Spurs fan, but it still sad to watch another Texas team lose. But last night, the Mavs finally came into their own.

Interesting Facts
Below is an interesting compilation of facts and trivia about the Dallas Mavericks that I can think of (and dig up) at the moment.
For the first time in franchise history (31 years) the Mavs have brought home the big cheese.
Their owner Mark Cuban is one of the most out-spoken (and violent) team owners in not only NBA history, but also the NFL, NHL, and MLB.
After 17 years of playing in the NBA, Jason Kidd finally has won a Championship.
In his post-game interview with an ABC reporter last night, Jason Terry attributed their victory to God. Twice.
Interesting stuff. But I still hate the Mavs with every fiber of my being. Go Spurs! And, being from Florida…well, you can guess who I was rooting for.
True, but although having 3 teams as opposed to 2 does make it easier for the 3-team state to have 2 teams with titles, it makes it harder for that state to have ALL teams with titles. And of course, the 7 of 18 stat lumps all other 27 teams in the same category together vs just Texas. I guess it makes up for baseball where Texas teams have 0 World Series wins all-time.

I like how Texas has now won 7 of the past 18 NBA championships and is the only state from 1976 to the present that has more than 1 team with a title.
@Daniel, Wow, I didn’t know that. I guess it just goes to prove how awesome we are.
Isn’t it a little unfair to compair Texas to states with only one or two NBA teams?
